The Failure of Broadway Park
Though the citizens of Ann Arbor created a park system along the river in the early 20th century, Broadway Park failed to become a thriving part of this system. Its bounded location behind the train tracks and under the bridge rendered it less popular than was hoped. Referred to as "Hobo Park" and "Bum Park", Broadway Park remained a relatively isolated space. See The Era of Redevelopment: 1940-present for later Broadway Park history. |
